In the About page, Shema Rhema is only explained as Hear the Spoken Word (of God). God then directed my attention to Psalm 119. Oh ya! I only had defined Shema Rhema, but I didn’t get to the whys – “Why should we hear the Word of God?”
So I went through Psalm 119 and highlighted these words in the physical copy of my Bible: “Your Word”. I took some time because it’s a long Psalm of 176 verses! These verses are divided into 22 sections and grouped according to the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Each section has 8 verses and each verse starts with the Hebrew alphabet it is under. This kind of acrostic poem requires superb literacy skills!
I am tempted to highlight the other words frequently mentioned in Psalm 119: testimonies, percepts, laws, statutes, commandments and judgments. But that can be an exercise for another day.
In this post, I have listed down verses of Psalm 119 that contain the words “Your Word”. These verses should be self-explanatory for “Why should we hear the Word of God?” Of course, certain verses might need more context and that’s for you seeker to seek it out. š
