Thankfulness in His Love

Thankfulness in His Love

Something happened to my daughter and again I asked, “Why me?

Then amid the storm, I felt prompted to give thanks. So I declare aloud over her the blessings she has: “Thank God you are growing well and healthy, without major hospitalisation. Thank God you are eating well. Thank God you can still see. Thank God …” I wanted her to hear them too.

Being thankful shifted my focus on her problem to other parts of her life where God’s hands are in it. As I give thanks, I see His love and blessings in her life.

If we know how much God loves us, we can let go and trust Him. With that trust, we can let not our hearts be troubled and have that peace that transcends understanding. Knowing He has our backs because He loves us, we can be thankful in all circumstances.

Rejoice always,
pray without ceasing,
give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV)

It’s a cycle, we give thanks so we see God’s love in our lives better, and once we know of God’s love for us, we are able to give thanks more easily. That is, we thank Him for His love and then find thankfulness in His love.

As you keep praying, I pray that you too will find peace and thankfulness in God’s love.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

What are three things you can be thankful for today?
