We’ve heard of those aspiring or struggling singers who were suddenly presented with a lifetime of opportunity that catapulted their popularity and the rest is history. One famous example in the Mandopop is G.E.M.鄧紫棋. I have been waiting for my ‘suddenly’ moment for more than a decade. That dramatic sudden door flings open with a loud thud – the turning point in which my step of faith makes sense and life changes for the better.
Recently, God has been speaking to me about these suddenlies. He even forewarned me about the criticisms that might come with it. Perhaps I have been tapering my expectations so much after years of broken hopes, or with age comes more jadedness than faith, but I was not looking forward to these suddenlies now compared to before. That suddenly could be suddenly bad – like an accident, major illness, doxxing, etc.
See how the enemy can turn our optimism to pessimism, and flip what might be a good sign to a bad omen. He easily plants thoughts of fear to squash our hope if we are not armoured with the armour of God.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,
having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
and having shod your feetwith the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faithwith which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Ephesians 6:13-20
I wrote the first two paragraphs and saved them into a draft. But after a few days, I decided not to discard this draft, until I saw an Instagram story that day:

So I worked on my draft again today (20 May 24) because someone might need to see this. I opened my browser to write and came across my open tab about suddenlies again.
Get ready for miracles of restored health, financial provision, family reconciliation and supernatural peace in the midst of the storm. Renew prayers for friends and family members, as it’s time for them to come to Christ. It’s a time of fulfillment of prophetic promises in unusual ways. It will be a time of suddenlies and surprises.

Curious about today’s prophetic word, I went to the homepage. Again, it’s about Suddenly.
The Lord showed me MIGHTY deliverances that are taking place in the upper room, where the Spirit of God is falling in such power. SUDDEN deliverances are taking place. SUDDEN healings are taking place. SUDDEN alignments are taking place. The fog is SUDDENLY breaking. Time is SUDDENLY being restored. Vision is SUDDENLY increasing.

Minutes after writing this post, I listened to Pastor Joseph Prince’s sermon online (preached on 12 May) when the suddenly word jumped out again. Pastor was reading Acts 2:1-4, “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly“, and he said “Say suddenly. Your blessing can come suddenly. It may happen this way. Suddenly, your manifestation comes,” and he continued with the verse, “there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.“
And in another God-incidence, I read an old post which aptly reminded me how I should embrace a good suddenly. I am comfortable in my season of hiddenness, writing for a small audience. I don’t think I can handle the criticisms and praises well if I’m thrust into the spotlight. By having this false humility of the limelight, I am limiting the influence God wants to give me. It means I am more fearful of man than being faithful to God. So embracing the influence is an act of faith and obedience. In a moment, Jesus too stepped into public ministry.

And just a day before this post was scheduled to post, this appeared first on Shema Rhema’s Instagram feed. I think suddenlies are coming upon many Christians this season:

If you are in dire straits, in a hopeless situation, in utter despair, or feeling a meaningless emptiness,know that God can turn things around, suddenly. In an unexpected and complete turn of events, He can put you in a place of favour and joy, and a position of honour and authority. Meanwhile, trust and love God, wear the armour of God – renew your mind, give thanks, read the bible – and pray always. And when that time comes, embrace it and give thanks!
